The Use of Fine Canvas in rugs

Naturally the finer the work the longer it takes to produce a rug, and probably the majority of people will be well advised to start with a moderately coarse canvas, say 5s, and then, if filled with enthusiasm, to embark upon one needing greater effort.

It is generally men who will begin by making a rug on 8s or finer canvas with perfect complacency and will produce quite beautiful results.
