Rug corner covering
The obvious difficulty regarding this (or any other) edging is how to cover the sharp points when arriving at the corners.
There is no certain and simple rule for obtaining a perfect result and to a considerable extent trial and error is necessary—and of course practice.
Some correspondence pupils of the writer volunteered the information that they began to feel satisfied with their results after working about twelve sampler corners!
This is a counsel of perfection and many people can produce excellent corners after working three or four on a sampler.
While, however, the way to success offers a wide scope for individual originality, the following device has proved useful for helping to solve this tiresome problem.
It can be tried out on the two bottom corners of the sampler of which only the top edge and part of a selvedge have perhaps been worked.
