Making rug canvas
When'using double mesh canvas a double bar of the weft threads dividing the
holes must form each of the two extreme ends of the rug, (this is important if a neat edge is to result), and for a single mesh foundation two successive weft threads of the material must do so.
A complete cross stitch is the strongest method of doing the oversewing, and it is worth the time it takes for the strength of the result it produces.
It is very annoying if the cut edge should start to fray out owing to inadequate oversewing before the "double" has been worked.
